Debbie Hoffman oversees Digital Risk’s legal functions and the operation of the legal department. Debbie is responsible for the preparation and negotiation of legal agreements between the company and its clients. In addition, she manages client projects that require legal expertise and review. Debbie advises the company on a wide variety of legal issues and directs the company’s outside counsel.
Debbie served as an attorney at the New York based law firm of Thacher Proffitt & Wood, LLP. While there, she specialized in the practice area of real estate finance, representing a wide variety of lenders in the origination, syndication and securitization of commercial fee and leasehold mortgages, including multi-state and multi-level property transactions.
Before joining Thacher Proffitt & Wood, Debbie was an attorney at Shanley, Sweeney, Reilly & Allen, located in Albany, New York. There she worked on corporate and real estate matters, while representing large commercial developers.
Debbie began her business career working in the audit department of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Most recently, she has been an instructor of legal writing at Florida A&M University, College of Law. Debbie has also served as an instructor at the business school of the University of Central Florida, teaching classes in real estate law and environmental law to both undergraduate and graduate level students.
Debbie earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor degree from the Albany Law School of Union University, where she graduated cum laude and served as an editor on the Albany Law Review.
